Preschool - Tesha Milliron

I graduated from Glen Lake in 2005 and completed my Bachelors of Science in Natural Resource Management/Earth Science in 2009. My husband and I decided to stay in the area close to our family. I love the outdoors but I found my “home” when I subbed in the preschool. I love seeing the joy in children's eyes when they discover something new. I went on to get my Child Development Associates Degree and worked in the preschool program for 5 years at Glen Lake before staying home with my children for a few years. I came back to Glen Lake in 2019 as a Paraprofessional and was accepted as a preschool teacher in 2021. I am currently working on my Masters in Early Childhood and my Birth - Kindergarten teaching certificate.

My husband, also a Glen Lake alum, and I have two children. We also have two rescue dogs, two cats, and chickens.  I love gardening, butterflies, bees, native flowers, and just being out in nature!

As an educator I believe it is my role to be a facilitator of learning. Children learn best through play and their own interests. It is my role to observe and analyze what children are playing and learning so I can adapt the environment and topics to what they need. I believe children need the opportunity everyday to create, move, sing, read, observe, discuss, and play. Some big things we focus on in preschool are: conflict resolution, learning to name and describe our feelings, how to communicate and listen to others, how to work in a group setting, taking care of personal needs, promoting independence, and developing perseverance and problem solving skills.
